Fellow Huerfano Republicans,
We have not been able to arrange a TEA PARTY here in Huerfano County on April 15th due to speakers conflict. However we are encouraging all of you to send letters to our elected officials to remind them of the famous Tea Party and what caused it.
I learned today (hopefully correct) that any letter containing a tea bag will not be opened, this results from the anthrax letters. I can understand, but I also believe it is an easy excuse not to read the letters therein.
Therefore I am attaching a DRAFT of a letter I received that you can use as an idea for your own personal letter. Please do not just copy this letter as it will probably not mean much to the representative. Take a few minutes to review it and change it to fit your issues and style. As you can see it has a picture of a TEA BAG at the bottom. Make sure as you edit that his photo does not get pushed away to another page. These letters will reach our representatives.
I have also attached a list of all of our representatives who I feel should receive your letter. There are 8 officials and they include two prominent ones we do not get to vote on, Rep Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca) and Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nv). I included them as they wield the most power in Congress.
Please take the time in the next few days to send your personal letters with the photo. I’ll be passing out the several hundred tea bags I bought for our next monthly meeting when I see you. Oh well it was good, well maybe not, intentions.
Remember our Monthly meeting is Tuesday, April 14th at the Community Center. Plan on being there as we’ll have a 20 minute video on President Abraham Lincoln.
